Returns, Refunds & Repair Support

If something isn't right,
we'll sort it.

Bought something that isn't as it should be, or a repair that needs another look? Start here — the policy is below in plain language, and the fastest route is always a message or a visit so we can see the device.

1 · Message us

Tell us what you bought or had repaired and what's happening. A photo or video of the issue helps us help you faster.

2 · Bring it in

Most things can only be judged properly with the device in hand. Bring it — and your receipt if you have it — to 13 Main Street.

3 · We put it right

Repair, replacement or refund — whichever the policy below provides for your case, explained clearly before anything is decided.

Last updated: 26 August 2026. This page explains how returns, refunds and repair support are handled by Royal Tech. It does not limit your statutory rights under Irish consumer law.

Online purchases: changing your mind

For most goods bought online, you may cancel within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving a reason. Tell us clearly that you wish to cancel, then return the goods without undue delay and no later than 14 days after notifying us.

Return the product with its included accessories and proof of purchase. You may inspect it as you would in a shop; you may be responsible for any reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and function.

Unless the goods are faulty or we agree otherwise, you are responsible for the direct cost of a change-of-mind return. Where cancellation applies, we refund the purchase price and eligible standard delivery charge using the original payment method. We may wait until the goods are returned or you provide evidence of return.

Exceptions to change-of-mind cancellation

Some statutory exceptions apply, including certain personalised goods, sealed goods not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once unsealed, and digital content supplied after the required express agreement. These exceptions do not remove your rights where goods are faulty or not as described.

In-store change-of-mind purchases

Irish law does not generally require a retailer to accept an in-store return solely because a customer changed their mind. Contact us promptly and we will confirm whether a discretionary exchange or return is available. Your rights for faulty, misdescribed or unfit goods are unaffected.

Faulty or misdescribed goods

Goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. Depending on the circumstances, Irish consumer law may give you rights to a refund, repair, replacement or price reduction. A short-term right to reject faulty goods can apply within 30 days. After that period, repair or replacement will generally be considered first, while a serious fault or unsuccessful remedy may support a refund or price reduction. Consumer rights can apply for up to six years depending on the product and circumstances.

Damage caused by misuse, accidental damage or ordinary wear and tear is not treated as an original product fault, but separate repair or manufacturer cover may still apply.

Repair services and repair warranties

We explain the proposed repair, estimated price and expected timing before authorised work begins. Any additional Royal Tech repair warranty, including its duration and coverage, will be stated on the quote, job record or receipt. It is additional to—and does not replace—your statutory consumer rights.

Unless required by law or expressly included in writing, repair warranty cover does not apply to unrelated faults, later accidental or liquid damage, misuse, third-party intervention or normal wear and tear. If you believe a completed service was not supplied as agreed or with reasonable care and skill, contact us promptly so we can assess it.

Starting a service during a cancellation period

If you arrange a service at a distance and ask us to begin during a statutory cancellation period, you may need to pay for work already supplied if you later cancel. Where a service has been fully performed after the required express request and acknowledgement, the cancellation right may end.

How to request a return or remedy

Before returning or sending a product, contact Royal Tech through our contact page, phone 083 174 3093, or visit 13 Main Street, Rathfarnham, Dublin 14. Include proof of purchase, the order or job reference, product details and a clear description of the issue.

Before handing over a device, back it up and remove sensitive information where practical. Remove SIM and memory cards unless we ask you to include them.

Not sure what's wrong?
